On my most recent trip to Disneyland Paris I was lucky enough to dine at and experience Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Since this was our second trip we knew it was a definite to do after hearing such great things on our first visit to the parks.
Buffalo Bill’s is located in the Disney Village and is unique to Disneyland Paris. The dinner show is based on the legends of the Wild West including Buffalo Bill and Chief Sitting Bull and shows re-enactments of their adventures and shootouts.
The full cast also includes horses and cattle which really helps demonstrate the times in the Wild West. Whilst this is obviously an entertainment show the animals are just recreating what actually happened and still occurs in some western areas. Horses being rode bare back and rounding up the cattle.
Again there are some impressive stunts featured in the show but the animals are just being used as how they would be at these times. Personally I felt it was nice to see animals included in entertainment that looked healthy, happy and alert and weren’t being forced into doing ridiculous tricks.
For the show you can book 1st or 2nd category seating in order to see where you are seated. When checking in you are then given one of the four teams/section and given a cowboy hat with that colour on.
There is a saloon bar waiting area with a great atmosphere and a chance to purchase a drink whilst listening to a folk band.
Then all teams are greeted by servers dressed in the team colours, our team was Green Mountain Ranch Montana, and then took inside the arena to our seats.
Seated in long benches around a rectangle arena there was nachos to share between every few seats, corn bread and a orange juice. Once the show began servers brought along a choice of beer, coke or water which was unlimited. The rest of the meal was brought out in stages through different points of the show with being served onto our metal containers. The meal included chilli, chicken, sausage, ribs, potatoes and vegetables. For dessert there was also a warm apple dessert with ice cream.
The show itself was very interactive with challenges happening for the chance for a teams to win and a decider challenge to find the winner of the night. Each team had a scarecrow encouraging you to cheer on your team. Showing your support also included banging your spoons and waving your cowboy hat in the air, which isn’t something you do everyday haha!
Not to forget this is a Disney dinner show so of course Mickey, Minnie and friends have a part in the show and gives you the chance to see the characters in their western outfits!
It’s hard to summarise the full experience as it is a full show and I don’t want to cover exact details to spoil it. Hopefully this has gave a little insight as to what you can expect from the show.
We absolutely loved it, we payed for 1st category seating which meant we were 2nd row with a great view. I would highly recommend to anyone as it is a great experience unlike anything I’ve seen before and great value for money getting a full meal, drinks and a show included!
