So I’ve just returned from another amazing trip at Disneyland Paris!! I can’t believe I can say this was my 2nd visit of the year and this time I got to experience my first Disney Park event!
I thought I would do a review on the Halloween Soirée event as it only happens one night a year, the 31st, at DLP and it’s always good to know a bit more.
We knew when booking this trip we wanted to be there on actual Halloween as in DLP the Halloween season ran from 1st October – 4th November 2018. While the decorations and the special characters are around during this period more extra parades and character meets happen at the Soirée itself.
We were staying at Disney’s Hotel New York and at check in our tickets for the event were confirmed with a the Soirée logo on our Magic Pass (I have explained more of this in a previous post if you’re interested)
On the day of the event we were able to pick up our wristbands needed in the reception of the hotel showing the logo and confirming our details. Throughout the day there were several places in the park for you to pick up your wristband and a programme of the nights events.
One of the main things about the event that stood out straight away was how well it was organised. We went into the event at 7 and the park was closing earlier to people not attending the party. We were shown access to all of the different lands through backstage areas. (Access to Main Street USA was opened after Illuminations finished earlier at around 7:30pm)
There was so many different things going on and the crowds/lines were way less than during the day. We only waited 20 minutes for Peter Pan’s Flight, which is one of the most popular rides!
Frontierland was greatly themed with coco and harvest decorations which looked great at night all lit up. In the land there was plenty to see with Mickey and Minnie meeting in their mariachi outfits, where you could also trick or treat. Then there was Goofy and Max DJ-ing a street party and Miguel as a marionette!
There was also plenty to see and do throughout the park! The Villains were out in force with multiple shows on the castle stage, a special parade and meeting in several spots in the park!
Other activities we participated in were Buzz Lightyear DJ-ing in Discoveryland and seeing The Descendants wicked sing a long show.
There was so many things going the things I’ve listed are things we did and can safely say we’re all amazing and perfect for celebrating the Halloween festivities.
I can honestly say it was one of the best Halloween’s I’ve ever had! The atmosphere and events were all perfectly planned to give you the full Disney Halloween experience. From ghosts calling down Main Street to riding Big Thunder Mountain at 1am!
It’s impossible to describe just how amazing it was but hopefully this gives you a bit of an idea of what the event was like and may be like in the future!
Hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to visit for the Soirée again as it is definitely on my list for next year!
