I am beyond excited about the fact I have had my first ever nonetheless Disneyland Paris Trip! I love all things Disney and always have so this has been my dream. I went to Walt Disney World when I was 3 with my grandparents and cousins for the millennium celebration, but I was so young.
This trip was a girls Disney trip making it extra special!
I love planning trips anyway but this trip was so magical to plan and look at every detail! Since it was my first trip I found it really helpful reading blogs/watching vlogs in helpful things so thought I would do one too!

Here are my top 10 helpful planning tips for the best experience:
1) Stay at a Disney Hotel
- Disneyland Paris offers 5 onsite hotels and a self catering option ranging at all different prices offering different services so it is easy to find an option perfect for you. There are also added bonuses such as, extra magic time-getting into the park earlier than the public, gift shop service-sending your purchases back to the hotel and many other things! Definitely makes the whole experience more magical.
2) Buy a lanyard and pouch
- This is something that will help you throughout your day at Disney! Disneyland Paris has been still very much paper based for your ticket, fast passes, meal plan vouchers and anything else you need regularly. We were lucky to have our hotel key, tickets and meal plan on a card known as the ‘MagicPass’ which is getting rolled out across the park at some stage but it was still really beneficial having it in a lanyard pouch.
3) Check what’s on and what deals you can get
- The are always special events and different things going on offering different packages etc. So make sure you check ahead and see if there is something on you really want to see to go at that time. There are also a range of deals so that might come into play when booking as well.
4) A meal plan can be great
- I’m quite a fussy eater (as my family and friends know haha!) so normally things like this don’t benefit me. However we got a half board meal plus plan and we ate at some great restaurants suitable for us both. So it was a great saving and handy option to have! Plus with all the different ones they definitely cater for everyone.
5) Plan a rough itinerary
- This sounds quite obvious for most holidays as you want to know what you can do and where you can go, but for a holiday like Disney it is essential. You want to make the most of your time there and make sure you get everything done you want to so try and figure that out before you go. Obviously you can’t plane everything as you can’t anticipate ride wait times etc but a rough plan will definitely help.
6) Make the most of fast passes
- There are certain rides in the park that offer fast passes which you can get for a certain time and get on the ride straight away! Really handy for when they have a massive queue plus there free! Win win.
7) Watch your favourite Disney films..again
- This is more of a fun one and doesn’t directly impact your trip but it’s a great excuse! You can watch ones more specific for Disneyland Paris e.g Sleeping Beauty (it’s her castle) and Ratatouille (it’s set in Paris) which is bound to make it more exciting when you’re there.
8) Hail, rain or shine
- Like any holiday in Europe especially be prepared for the weather. The time of year you go definitely does make a difference obviously but it can still rain in summer months. So be sure to have a plan for what to do if that’s the case.
9) Use the map and programme
- Be a bit of a billy tourist if you like and use the park map and daily programme they have. It’s great to make sure it’s easier for to get around and to know what’s on where and when. Especially if it’s your first time like us.
10) Just go all out
- This is a case of you don’t go to Disneyland Paris everyday (unless you’re living the dream haha) so make sure you get everything you want done and just make the most of the experiences on offer to have the most magical trip.
Hope these were helpful and a nice read even though so long haha. I just love Disney if you couldn’t tell and a good plan always sets you well.
