Disney’s Hotel New York – Review

On our recent trip to Disneyland Paris we stayed at Disney’s Hotel New York. It is a 4 key rating much like Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel we stayed in on our first trip (you can check out that review from earlier in the year.) We had this high on our list as a place to stay so we couldn’t wait!

The hotel obviously by its name is designed to feel like New York, and that’s exactly what it did. The building itself is modern with an Art-Deco style with brick colouring looking very much how apartment blocks would in Manhattan. Similarly to Newport Bay the hotel doesn’t have an obvious Disney theming with Mickey being the main character spotted in the interior designs such as the bed spreads.

The hotel is on a grand scale, when walking into the lobby we were in awe of the decor. From the bright lights of the New York City Bar sign, the clock featuring the Empire State Building and of course the wall paintings of Big Apples behind reception.

The room was absolutely amazing with two double beds with a bedside drawers separating them, a writing desk with a mirror above, a coffee table and chairs in the corner, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space as well as a T.V. and mini bar (at extra charge).

The hotel has two restaurants the Manhattan Restaurant, which is a table service restaurant in a stylish setting and the Parkside Diner, which is a buffet style restaurant set as an American Diner. We ate breakfast in the mornings at the Parkside Diner and had an evening meal one night. This buffet style suited us and there was a range of food at both breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed our eating experiences here.

Other features of the hotel include an indoor and outdoor pool, a concierge, the opportunity to meet characters, fitness centre, spa, kids play area and outdoor game/ice rink and the New York boutique gift shop. (Some services listed above are at an extra charge and some are seasonal.)

Another reason we were desperate to stay at the hotel was because as announced earlier in the year Hotel New York is completely closing for 2019 and is being reimagined into a Marvel superhero theme which will open in 2020.

Whilst the hotel is closing and will be different I still wanted to review it as the standard of the hotel will be the same and just as amazing in the new theme. So while I’m sad I won’t be able to relive the stay I am excited to see how it will look in the future.
