So a few weeks ago I went to Fenwick’s Santa’s Cinema on the Rooftop. This year the department store is hosting Santa’s Grotto on the Rooftop where children can visit Santa and the elves.
New for this year they have added a cinema which shows The Snowman, the theme for their famous window this year, when Santa’s Grotto is open. On Friday and Saturday nights up until Christmas the cinema is showing a range of classic Christmas films.
The event has to be booked online and is showing family favourites such as Home Alone and more traditional films such as It’s A Wonderful Life. The cinema is great value especially for the full experience with a ticket for an adult (aged 15 and over) being £11.95 and cheaper for children.
I went to see The Holiday with my mam, which is one of our favourites, for a Christmassy night to get us ready for the festive season. And it was absolutely amazing!
We were greeted by an Elf at the door in the Christmas section who led us through a backstage area designed to look like the Elves workshop. Every detail has been thought of from work signs, hard hats with elf ears and a giant teddy bear ready to be sent. We took the lift, again all decorated, and entered a rooftop winter wonderland.
We were greeted by another Elf where we could order drinks and snacks for the cinema. The area was all white with fake snow on the ground and a cardboard cut out scene of The Snowman.
We then had a tour around the rooftop and all through Santa’s Grotto and the workshop. Next was to pick up our ordered drinks and snacks in Cafe Clause and head in to the cinema room.
The cinema was set out with comfortable padded cinema style seats with a blanket on each which you could use to keep you warm if needed. Although it’s on a roof in the winter it was nice and warm.
Overall it was an amazing evening and a great way to get in the Christmas spirit! We had such a great night and definitely hope it returns to do it again next year.
