Keys to the Kingdom Tour Walt Disney World

This post is going to be an overview of the tour in terms of what the day was like and our experience of it. I’m not going to go into detail about the specifics of the whole thing or tell any of the facts we learnt as there were so many and I don’t want to spoil the tour.

We definitely knew we wanted to do this after hearing you get to go under Magic Kingdom and see behind the scenes! We booked by ringing Walt Disney World in advance of our trip. The cost is $99 per person for the 5 hour walking tour. I can’t express how good value for money this was I highly recommend.

We chose the 9:30am tour so we still had an early start but didn’t have to rush to the park. We checked in at Town Square Theatre the suggested amount of time before, we were given our listening device, name badges, a bottle of water and to choose our meal for later in the day which would be at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. (I have heard of lunch location being at different places)

Our tour group consisted of around 20 people and our tour guide Ashlyn was so friendly and clearly loved her job which was so nice to be. She also shared her own experiences, told us so many interesting things and was happy to answer questions. Throughout the day she honestly made the whole tour such a great and magical experience it couldn’t of been better!

The listening devices were set up easily with the help of our guide and we were off! The main stand out points of the tour included Main Street USA, Jungle Cruise, backstage of Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion and the famous Utilidoors.

Lunch was midway on the tour (there were also 2 toilet stops on the tour) and it was delicious! We were seated in a private area with name tags and our food freshly laid out for your party. There was also a buffet style of a range of toppings to choose from for the Tacos and to go with lunch. This was a favourite meal of our whole trip for us and was nice to have time to soak in everything you were learning.

It’s hard to pick but my favourite part would be getting to experience being in the Utilidoors and knowing you’re right under Main Street USA.

No photos or videos are allowed on the tour which is great as you experience it all brand new there and then. We also had one of the Country Bears join our tour for a moment haha but sadly didn’t get a picture of this. You get to keep your name badge and lunch place setting which also had a key pin in as souvenirs which was really special.

I could talk forever about this tour and it still couldn’t do it justice. I’m so glad we did this tour and on our first trip! I can’t recommend enough to everyone to do it as it made my love of Disney grow even more!
