Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea

Alice in Wonderland is one of my all time favourites and I have always loved it. So much so that my 18th birthday party was wonderland themed. So when I heard you could do a Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea I was there.

Afternoon Tea isn’t normally my sort of thing, considering I don’t drink tea or coffee lol, so I really had no idea what to expect but I was looking forward to all the sweet treats on offer.

The tea is at How Do You Do restaurant and at the time of me going there was a special offer on making it £21.95 for two people which was such good value!

The waiter we had was so friendly and we had excellent service which really added to the experience! We got a lovely window table which gave amazing views over North Shields Fish Quay and out at the sea.

Included was 4 sandwiches each which were a variety of ham and cucumber, a scone each with a serving of cream and jam to add, Queen of Hearts Victoria sponge, rose water macarons, ‘drink me’ bottles, mini brownies and lollipops. Obviously for drinks there was a choice of tea or coffee (I got water), and a choice of a glass of Prosecco, cocktail or mocktail.

Me and my mam absolutely loved it, the food was really good and themed brilliantly. I was pleasantly surprised at how filling it was and how the sweet things were just enough not to be sickly.

There was also a huge Mad Hatters Tea Party chair which is a great photo op and again just gives that bit extra to the theming.

It was great value for money and such a great afternoon. Would definitely do it again in the future and recommend!
