One of my definitely have to do things on this trip was use a Minnie Van, and I can safely say it didn’t disappoint.
A Minnie Van is a taxi service that can take you to and from different locations within Walt Disney World. It can also do an airport shuttle service.
We decided for our trip it was going to suit us best to use the Minnie Van service on our last day to go from our resort to Disney Springs. With our holiday we had Virgin Check In at Disney Springs so it meant once we checked out of of hotel, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, we booked a Minnie Van to take us there with our two cabin cases and two hold suitcases.
The service is available by the Lyft app. I had never used Lyft before but found it very easy, quick and simple to use. You can select the Minnie Van option, selecting where you want to be picked up from and dropped off at. We were given the information of our Minnie Van and driver and could track the car along with an updated arrival time.
Within 15 minutes our Minnie Van arrived and straight away our driver could not have made our experience any better. He was great at helping us with our luggage and made sure we were happy with everything before heading off.
As this was our first time Joe (our driver, who is a cast member) explained the service and what the service is. For example the Minnie Van can seat up to 6 people, has two child car seats, has air conditioning and usb phone charging ports.
We were free to ask him any questions we had and it was great to learn about his Disney career and finding our things we had thought of about Minnie Vans and the parks in general throughout our trip.
Our trip was only around 10 minutes and cost $22 not including gratuity. It is more money that a standard lift but you are getting a completely different experience and I found it wasn’t that much more to pay in comparison. Next time it’ll be great to do a longer journey but this was perfect for us this trip.
Once at Disney Springs Joe made sure he dropped us right where we needed to be and have us two Disney transport cards, which can be collected. He was also more than happy to take a photo for us (earlier in the post) to document our trip.
The quality of the Minnie Van service was amazing and we will definitely be using it again on future trips. It was so easy and fun really adding even more magic to our holiday. I would definitely recommend and let’s face it, it’s not everyday you can drive in a Minnie Van!
