Nintendo Switch Lite & Animal Crossing: New Horizons

I used to be obsessed with my Nintendo DS when I was younger, I had the original for years and then eventually upgraded to the Nintendo DSI. I always loved all sorts of gaming from my GameBoy Colour, Nintendo Wii and I also have a PlayStation 2. But I haven’t played on any in years and not really bothered with them.

When the Nintendo Switch came out I thought it did look good and was the first game in years that I had even considered. However I thought it was quite similar in ways to the Nintendo Wii which I still have with loads of games so didn’t really see the point in paying so much for something similar.

When the Nintendo Switch Lite was released I thought it would be great as while similar to a DS it was set out slightly better and still had the qualities of an original Switch.

I finally invested in a Nintendo Switch Lite last month in yellow, fancied something bright and different as my original DS was blue. I got a bundle with the Mario Kart 8 game included. One thing I really like is being able to buy games through the Nintendo eShop as I used to have to carry so many games cards around. I bought a micro SD card and Nintendo Switch Lite carry case to go with it which is great to be able to download games and keep the console safe as well as storing any physical games you do have. I really glad I went for the Switch Lite as it’s so lightweight and compact it’s perfect to take with you wherever and makes it more convenient to play.

I bought Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition on the eShop when it was on offer which is another perk as you can get games with a great price saving rather than paying full price! I’ve been playing both games loads over the last month and enjoying a bit of escapism which is definitely needed now more than ever!

There was so much hype around the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons game so I preordered it, again getting a great deal with a free exclusive notepad and sticker set as well as saving money by collecting in store. I was really excited about this one as it was one of my favourite games when I was younger. So far it’s safe to say it hasn’t disappointed! It’s great to play on a game which is familiar but new so you know roughly what to do but still play it like a brand new game! I really like the updated features and the benefits you can get from playing this way!

Overall I’m so glad I purchase a Nintendo Switch Lite and the games I currently have, especially with having a lot more of spare time at the minute and needing something else to focus on and just enjoy!
