The Beginning of the End of Lockdown

Gradually in England over the past weeks lockdown restrictions have been eased, with being allowed to meet more people outside as long as you are 2m apart and opening of non essential shops. The next stage of relaxing the rules comes on July 4th, with more places opening including restaurants and seeing people indoors again as long as you social distance to minimum 1m where 2m isn’t possible.

I feel like we are starting to see the ‘new normal’ that we have been talking about for months.

What I’ll take away from lockdown: going back to basics and doing everything I have been wanting/trying to do but have always said ‘I haven’t got time.’ I’ve achieved 2 blog posts a week which I’ve never maintained before, I’ve had a good tidy and sort through things, read, played on my Nintendo switch, been more active getting into running and growing a few plants, made my way through watching all Star Wars films etc. And still not over attending a virtual Pretty Little Liars reunion/meet and greet with Troian Bellisario.

My thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by COVID-19 either health wise, job wise, loved ones affected and just general life changes.

What we can continue to do to help: face coverings when in more crowded spaces, keep hand sanitising, keep social distancing and being sensible as while lockdown is easing coronavirus is still around and the world hasn’t had months in lockdown for nothing and we don’t want to go back. The pandemic is still very much real globally as everyone tries to flatten the curve and make a safe place to live.

Lockdown has consisted of a lot from the beginning when people where panic buying toilet roll, everyone coming together and showing support clapping for 10 weeks to thank the NHS and key workers, the efforts and inspiring stories of people like captain Tom and other important issues which have finally had the time to begin to be addressed such as the Black Lives Matter movement. It seems times have began to change and hopefully will continue to for a better world for everyone and so that the new normal turns out to have fixed some of the problems in the world.

I have been off in the house for 3 and 1/2 months and I feel thankful to be in the position I am in coming out of lockdown. I have had trips rescheduled – when I should of been in Cyprus for a week and a 4 day to trip to DLP but these trips will come again soon so that is something to look forward to. I also came into lockdown with green dye in my hair and coming out with purple haha #QUARANTINT (even though I don’t need quarantine as an excuse to put colour in my hair!

I hope going forward people are sensible, continue to follow lockdown rules and necessary guidelines so that life can go on. It’s important to remember to not take things for granted, and realise what is important in day to day life and make time for those things! The importance of being kind and thinking of others goes a long way.

This has been a time like no other and may never hopefully happen again so I wanted to do a post as well as the few I have done based on this throughout lockdown to look back on!

Fingers crossed for a better place! ? ✨
