The cinema at home!

So I watch a lot of films anyway so it’s still part of my routine during lockdown at home. I really enjoy going to the cinema but also really enjoy watching films at home either on DVD, Sky, Netflix or downloading from ITunes. Lately I’ve been wanting to just watch films that are easy escapism and just having something to watch/have on in the background.

Now there’s no denying that sometimes a good kids film is all we need. Trolls:World Tour was due to be released in cinemas and had date changes a few times before Universal made the decision to release it on a new date as digital download. As far as I’m away this is the first time this has been done (don’t quote me) but I’m actually really interested in the film industry and behind the scenes so to me I feel like this is quite a moment for the industry. Obviously it’s due to extreme and unpredictable circumstances but the decision to move from ‘Box Office’ to home seems huge.

I decided to rent the Trolls sequel on Sky for £15.99 which is a lot more than usual and more the price of buying. However at this time the film can only be rented and when you put into perspective the price of a cinema ticket it’s actually quite reasonable! The film was everything I expected it to be, happy, colourful , musical and generally just a cute feel good family film.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with future scheduled cinema releases during lockdowns around the world and the box office recovers when normal life resumes!
