So recently I feel like now more than ever girl power is coming back with a bang like the good old spice girls kinda girl power Also kind of why I went with the ‘that’s my girl’ title for this post as in Fifth Harmony’s song That’s My Girl because one it’s such a catchy tune at the minute lol and two because actually it’s a really good women empowerment song!
Of course this isn’t the first women empowerment song with Beyoncé’s Run The World to Ashley Roberts Woman Up! With recent events highlighting how women are still trying to prove how we deserve to be given an equal chance and stand up for rights that in this day and age shouldn’t be an issue!
It’s sad that women all over the world experience something at a disadvantage purely because they’re a women with everything from, abortion rights, equal pay and everything in between.
Generally just feeling equal and empowered in society. However what is so inspiring to see women across the world who are so different to each other come together to stand up for what we deserve, what everyone deserves … to be equal!! Everyone in this world deserves to be treat equal regardless of wealth, religion, race etc. And no one has the right to say that they are better or deserve more than anyone else.
Now once again seems to be a time where women are standing up together and making sure they’re heard. It’s all about making sure women’s rights are seen as human rights. And obviously this isn’t something that has just started recently it has been going on since the very beginning with different women taking a stand through the years to make a difference and keep going to become equal! Natalie Portman, Emma Watson and Malala Yousafzai are just a few recent examples of inspirational women taking a stand!
I personally have been so inspired by seeing such a movement come together globally for something so important. Of course women’s rights is so important and has been something that women have been fighting for years. It’s important also to recognise how many men are supporting women’s rights to.
Although it’s for women’s rights doesn’t mean that it isn’t an issue everyone can’t get behind. To have such an impact through celebrities showing support and inspiring others to do the same and social media platforms is something that is definitely worth thinking about!
So I would encourage everyone to be inspired especially us girls and stand up for what you think is right especially for something as important and something that really is quite simple as just wanting to be an equal!
So here come the girls!!
