My first ARC read of the year! So excited to have been selected for an ARC copy of Khris Andrew’s A Time For Love and further my experience of reviewing books and falling in love with new stories and authors.
A Time For Love is released on the 31st March and I can’t recommend enough to grab a copy!
And all I can say is wow. I absolutely loved this book it was everything I didn’t even know it needed to be.
I don’t want to give too much away obviously because it’s I don’t want to spoil it and everyone should enjoy reading it for themselves.
A Time For Love is the second novel in Khris Andrew’s Silver Lake Falls series. Whilst it does interlink the characters it can be read as a stand alone and this is was my first introduction into these characters and their lives.
The book focuses on Jackie and Adam who have been in each other’s lives for many years but have been through too much that eventually pushed them apart. But with Jackie’s life and company at risk, not to mention their intertwined lives, they’re thrown back together and forced to face their past while trying to move forward.
I really enjoyed Khris’s writing style and the pace for this book. There were so many quotes/parts of the book that really resonated and made the characters more relatable. While the characters and aspects of their lives seem ok another level it’s a perfect reminder that nobody is perfect and that life is messy.
This book I found was the perfect length for going into all the detail about each of the characters personalities and pasts as well as their shared story. This added so much to the story and really helped for you to invest in the character and the book. It was great to have alternating chapters from both of the main characters perspective and showed the vulnerability of both main characters.
That in itself feels like it sets this book apart from others if a similar genre as normally you find one main character always feels superior to the other.
My favourite reference of the book was the rainbow and that being a reoccurring reference throughout.
The idyllic surroundings were perfectly described for both New York and the Silver Lake Falls setting to fully immersive yourself into their world.
The main themes I took away from the book were:
- Everyone has a past and that’s part of life
- Just because you’ve made mistakes it doesn’t mean they define you
- People do find their way back to each other

One of the things that’s really added to this book being so great was the mystery, almost thriller, aspect of the storyline. It never felt too much and fitted around the main characters being the main focus perfectly. I found myself trying to figure out who was putting Jackie in this position at the same time as the characters.
I gave this a 5 star rating on my Goodreads and have added the first book in the series, A Place For Love to my TBR list. It’s also so exciting that the series will continue with a number of characters to delve more in depth too.
The only addition I would’ve loved would be to have a chapter being set as a flash forward into Jackie and Adam’s lives in the future, purely because I didn’t want the story to end haha!
The quote at the beginning of the book is the perfect summary and as soon as I read it I knew i was going to love it!
“To all my overthinkers:
This one’s for everyone currently on the fourteenth round of analyzing a three-second interaction.
P.S. They were definitely staring back.”
