Nintendo Switch Lite & Animal Crossing: New Horizons

I used to be obsessed with my Nintendo DS when I was younger, I had the original for years and then eventually upgraded to the Nintendo DSI. I always loved all sorts of gaming from my GameBoy Colour, Nintendo Wii and I also have a PlayStation 2. But I haven’t played on any in years and not really bothered with them.

When the Nintendo Switch came out I thought it did look good and was the first game in years that I had even considered. However I thought it was quite similar in ways to the Nintendo Wii which I still have with loads of games so didn’t really see the point in paying so much for something similar.

When the Nintendo Switch Lite was released I thought it would be great as while similar to a DS it was set out slightly better and still had the qualities of an original Switch.

I finally invested in a Nintendo Switch Lite last month in yellow, fancied something bright and different as my original DS was blue. I got a bundle with the Mario Kart 8 game included. One thing I really like is being able to buy games through the Nintendo eShop as I used to have to carry so many games cards around. I bought a micro SD card and Nintendo Switch Lite carry case to go with it which is great to be able to download games and keep the console safe as well as storing any physical games you do have. I really glad I went for the Switch Lite as it’s so lightweight and compact it’s perfect to take with you wherever and makes it more convenient to play.

Top 10 Things I’m Binge Watching First On Disney+

The UK launch of Disney+ couldn’t really of came at a better time! After hearing all the amazing things from over the past few months after it launched in the US, I can’t wait! I have had DisneyLife which was a similar concept apart from it didn’t have exclusive content for streaming like Disney+ will. After knowing how much I use and love DisneyLife I preordered Disney+ for the year and I’m really excited to start watching.

Currently Playing: Bastille ‘World Gone Mad’

I’ve had a few months off from posting again and I’ve decided rather than trying to upload on a strict schedule basis at the moment which can’t be guaranteed, from now on I’ll still post regularly but just when I actually want to and can fit it into everyday life that I will instead of posting for the sake of it. This is more realistic fitting in with personal life and work. I’m doing this because I really enjoy it so don’t want it to become something I feel I have to do instead.

Also I think now more than ever there’s a lot more on people’s minds and going on in the world! It’s so important to take situations like these very seriously, listen to advice and make sure you are correctly informed. While it can be hard when it’s so consuming it’s also important to try and remain calm in the situation.

We’re all having to make changes but at the same time ‘normal’ life has to carry on for example you don’t need to be stock piling like an apocalypse is coming. In times like these we see the worst and the very best of humanity so let’s try and focus on the positive. Remember to be kind and I think all we can do is just take each day as it comes. It’s such a confusing time but as High School Musical once said We’re All In This Together!

PhotoPass+ at Disneyland Paris

So this is something I looked into quite a bit before my first trip to Disneyland Paris. I’m someone who loves photos and especially like to grab them as souvenirs of a great trip. So it was definitely something I wanted to look at getting but wanted to make sure it value for money. It definitely is! I wouldn’t do a DLP trip without as it has so many benefits!

Walt Disney World Quick Service Restaurants – #1

I did a post at the beginning of last year on Quick Service Restaurants at Disneyland Paris so I thought it would be good to also do one for Walt Disney World.

As I have mentioned before the style of these restaurants is similar to fast food systems but the quality of the food is more like a sit down restaurant standard. It’s also great as they tend to be a cheaper option for meals when in the parks.

There are so many options available across the parks and resorts at Walt Disney World but I’ve mentioned all of the restaurants we tried and wrote a little bit about our experience at each one of them.

We also dined at Be Our Guest which is quick service for breakfast and lunch and changes to table service for dinner. I plan on doing a separate post for this as well as the other table service restaurants we tried as there is more detail to go into. Also while Be Our Guest is quick service you can make a dining reservation for it unlike others.

On this trip we had the Quick Service Dining Plan so it was great to see a range of restaurants that were included in this.

Disney 2019 Movie Reviews

So even though we’re in the first week of 2020 I just wanted to do a summary of little reviews for all of the major films released at the cinema by Disney last year. There was so many classics and since I didn’t manage to write a full review on any I thought this would be the best way to do it.

2019 a year I’ll never forget. ?

Starting with the most magical trip I had dreamt of since I can remember✨?

Most importantly my final year with my favourite and it being a struggle ever since. ??

Grateful for family and friends who have helped me through and for managing to get a job back in retail in something new that I love.?❤️

No year will ever be the same .. keeping my fingers crossed for 2020 and knowing that my Millie will always be here with me.??

How does time go so fast, a lot can happen in 10 years. Beginning of the decade vs the end! Pretty sure I look exactly the same apart from longer hair and ironically probably looked older 10 years ago?‍♀️? here’s to the next decade!??

Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Last month I went to Disney On Ice for the first time since 2008! I used to go all the time when I was young and the last show I saw was High School Musical: The Ice Tour. I’ve actually looked at going to see recent productions however they haven’t came to the arena near me. So when I saw that 100 Years Of Magic was coming I knew I definitely wanted to go.

While the show was a month ago it is still touring around other cities in the country, so I don’t want to give away too many spoilers just in case!

Millie ? ❤️

© Laura Merritt, 2019 (own photo).

15th June – a chunk of my heart broke that will never fix. 9 days later and I still can’t believe it. What am I going to do without you, I’ve had you for more of my life than not and the longest we’ve been apart was 18 days. I’ll never get a better present than you. I’m so lucky to have had you and you’ll always be a huge part of my life. Sweet dreams Millie, love you forever. ??

The post above was one of the hardest I’ve ever had to write and still doesn’t feel real.

It’s still the hardest time and I’m so heartbroken but I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for their kind messages about Millie! It has really meant so much and we really appreciate it! She really was the best I could’ve ever wished for. ??

Over the summer we also visited one of our favourite places just our absolute favourite missing to celebrate Millie’s 14th birthday.

It will never be the same and it’s still just as hard as ever. Very thankful for family and friends, helping me with the last few months. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to not having you here but I know you’re with me forever ??❤️

I haven’t been on my blog over the past months for obvious reasons and I really couldn’t start my blog up again without a post for my Millie. So just wanted to write a little bit of what has been on my social media these past few months.

If you’ve ever been to Disney you know that snacks are a big deal and next level! There are so many to choose from we didn’t experience all of them but we did quite a few! Some of the classics and some people seem to overlook a bit. Just thought I would do a post of our favourites because why not dream about Disney shaped food lol.
